Answers:

1. Are patterns suitable for Bratz and Barbies?

No... not really. Bratz have very small upper bodies compared with Barbies, so any clothes for Bratz, that fit closely to the body, will be too small for Barbies. However coats and jackets, which are loose fitting, and, of course, wraps, boas and handbags should be OK, but may look smaller than expected.

2. Are classic / tradional Barbies and My Scene Barbies the same size?

Yes, and this makes knitting for them very exciting. You can knit our 'trad' and 'trendy' designs... and then choose which is appropriate for different events. You can even estimate cost/volume of yarn required for each (and ponder on marketing and finance!)

3. When can I download my knitting patterns?

ASAP after successfully completing the PayPal transaction, you will be sent an email with the URL address of where the PDF file is stored and a password that will allow you access. The password will remain valid for one month. Store the PDF file in a safe place, so that you can print it when you want.

4. How should the clothes be washed if they get dirty?

Washing instructions:

Always wash the items by hand.

Always squeeze the water out by hand.

Always dry flat.

Do not use a washing machine or dryer. The clothes are so small that they might accidently get caught up and cause damage.

5. Why aren't photos of people allowed on the Forum and Website?

This is a site about knitting for dolls. I want children, with supervision, to be able to access the Forum, and this website, safely.

If someone, who you don't know, recognises you, you are immediately vulnerable; adults and children alike. Therefore let's be safe and avoid that situation... Sorted!

6. When should I expect delivery of the Kid's Kit and the Designer Outfit?

ASAP after successfully completing the PayPal transaction, your purchase will be despatched to you by first class mail.

7. How can I remove my email address from a mailing list?

You can remove your email address from a mailing list at any time by using the appropriate button on the Privacy page.

8. Why don't you use Hook and Loop instead of Snap Fasteners?

Hook and Loop Fasteners were origninally used, even anti-snag products were tried. But they would stick to the yarn, and leave it snagged and of a fluffy appearance.

Snap Fasteners, however, are more than adequate, but some tops for Barbie and Action Man may use more than 1, which does mean extra sewing! However Snap Fasteners have other advantages... as aids to developing good Hand/Eye coordination in children.

9. Can I use this eco-friendly cotton yarn with all the knit4dolls knitting patterns?

Unfortunately no, only with the Eco-Outfit knitting patterns. The thickness of the yarn is not the same and this makes a difference to the number of stitches and rows to be used. Also, because the eco-friendly yarn is 100% cotton, it is not as stretchy as other yarns. However this isn't a problem with things like some bags, wraps and boas... things that do not fit onto the body of the doll.

10. Are patterns suitable for both Action Man and HM Armed Forces?

No... unfortunately they are different sizes. Action Man is taller than HM Armed Forces and is larger around the waist.

11. Is this website related to 'acecrafts' or 'knit4you'?

No... We are nothing whatsoever to do with the websites/companies called 'acecrafts' or 'knit4you'.
